Fall is fabulous in Thornbury!

Come enjoy the fall colours, tour The Apple Pie Trail or pick your own apples.  While you're here, browse the main street, enjoy a sidewalk cafe or simply savour the tasty foods our many restaurants offer.  Thornbury is "Four Seasons of Charming" where there's always something on the go.

October is "Apple Month" in Thornbury.  Celebrating our apple heritage, complimentary apples are being offered at many businesses.

October 1st try a Gala Apple. A yellow orange apple with a hint of red blush, this is the perfect apple to eat right out of your hand!  Compliments go to Simplicity Bistro for supplying a great recipe for using this apple, "Apple Cinnamon Doughnuts with Lemon Sugar and Vanilla Cream"!  Pick up this complimentary recipe card with your apple!

October 8th the McIntosh Apple - Celebrate the 200th birthday of this local favourite by trying Ashanti's Autumn Cheesecake recipe using local Macs.  McIntosh is the perfect apple for this fan favourite dessert!

October 15th the Empire Apple will be taking centre stage at  local businesses.  Tart, juicy and crisp, this apple is great for eating out-of-hand.  Or, try the Honey House's recipe for the very best apple crisp, using Empires and local honey!

The Northern Spy Apple on the 22nd will wrap up this fine showing of local apples.  A late-season variety, the apple is crisp and firm, just the perfect apple to use for a Caramelized Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich, recipe complements of the Cheese Gallery.

See you soon!
